John is directing the company’s residential design and sales efforts. John grew up in northwest Missouri where he farmed with his family. He obtained his degree in landscape architecture with a minor in community planning from Kansas State University in 1995. During college, John joined the Army Reserves and was awarded an Army Commendation Medal for his efforts during Operation Desert Storm. He also had two internships in college; one with the National Park Service in Wisconsin, and a year long internship with an international landscape architecture firm in Maryland. After college, John joined the Urban Planning Group with HNTB Architects/Engineers of Kansas City. While at HNTB, John had the privilege of working on numerous projects such as the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City Light Rail Initiative, The Power and Light District, and the Kansas Speedway. After HNTB, John started his own landscape design/build company where his focus was on creative residential design. He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and the Knights of Columbus. John enjoys outdoor activities with his wife and two sons.
